Marc E. Bruner, President, Chief Executive Officer and
Director
Marc E. Bruner is Galaxy’s President and Chief Executive
Officer. President of Dolphin Energy since June, 2002, Mr. Bruner
is a third generation oil and gas executive whose grandfather,
Arnold Bruner, was a founder in Triton Energy Corporation and whose
father, Marc A. Bruner, was the founder of Ultra Petroleum and
Pennaco Energy Inc. He has worked as an Investment Banker and Analyst
for Resource Venture Management, a Swiss-based energy sector consulting
firm. Prior to that, he served as an account executive with securities
firms J.B. Oxford & Co. and GKN Securities. Mr. Bruner holds
a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
Cecil D. Gritz, Chief Operating Officer and Director
Cecil D. Gritz is Galaxy’s Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Gritz
has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than three decades
and holds an advanced degree in petroleum engineering and is a
graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. He worked as an engineer
in various capacities for Shell Oil Company; he served as president
of a drilling company, as a Petroleum Engineer and as Manager and
Consulting Petroleum Engineer for Harbor Petroleum, LLC in Granbury,
Texas. Mr. Gritz has been responsible for all phases of drilling
and production operations on three continents. Of special value
to the company is Mr. Gritz's extensive drilling experience in
Texas, the Uinta Basin, Utah, and throughout the Rocky Mountain
region.
William P. Brand, Jr., Interim Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and
Treasurer
William P. Brand, Jr. is Galaxy’s Interim Chief Financial
Officer, Secretary and Treasurer. Mr. Brand previously served as
Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Teton Energy Corporation.
Prior to that, he was Vice President Finance for PRB Energy Inc.
He has also worked as a consultant on projects including the restatement
team for Qwest Communications International and several SOX 404
compliance projects. He served as Controller and Finance Director
for Orica USA Inc., and as Finance Manager/Director for US West
International and its successor companies. Prior to that he served
in several capacities with Monsanto Company, Monsanto Oil Company,
and successor, BHP Petroleum Americas Inc. Mr. Brand holds a B.S.
and an MBA from Southern Illinois University, and is a CPA, inactive,
State of Texas.
Dr.
James M. Edwards, Director
Dr. Edwards has been actively involved in international oil and
gas exploration and exploitation for more than 27 years. He has
participated in oil and gas discoveries in Australia, Colombia,
Equatorial Guinea, France, Norway, Trinidad, Thailand, the United
Kingdom and the United States. Dr. Edwards worked as Chief Geologist
for Triton Energy Corporation, which was sold to Amerada Hess for
$3.2 billion. Dr. Edwards holds advanced degrees in Geology, including
a Ph.D. from Rice University.
Thomas
G. Fails, President, Pannonian International
Mr. Fails is currently president of Pannonian International Ltd.,
a natural gas and coalbed methane development company with properties
in Europe. Galaxy acquired Pannonian in 2003. Mr. Fails’ career
spans four decades in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Fails has worked
as a Senior Geologist for Shell Oil Co., numerous other international
oil and gas exploration and exploitation companies and is past president
of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Mr. Fails
holds degrees from the Colorado School of Mines and Columbia University.
Robert
Thomas Fetters, Jr., Director
Mr. Fetters became a director in March 2004. He began his career
in the oil and gas industry in 1966 when he joined Exxon, USA (then
known as Humble Oil and Refining). He served in various capacities
including exploration, production, and research management and as
exploration planning manager. Internationally, he held positions
as chief geologist for Esso Production Malaysia and exploration
manager for Esso Australia. In 1983, Mr. Fetters joined Consolidated
Natural Gas, serving as the president and CEO of its subsidiary,
CNG Producing Company, from 1984 to 1989. From 1990 to 1995, he
was the president of exploration and production for the Exploration
Company of Louisiana, and from 1995 to 1997, he was the senior vice
president of operations for National Energy Group in Dallas, Texas.
In 1997, Mr. Fetters co-founded Beta Oil and Gas, Inc., based in
Houston, Texas, and served as its managing director of exploration
to 2002. In 2003, he co-founded Delta Resources, LLC, Houston, Texas,
which was formed specifically to utilize leading edge technology
in oil and gas exploration. He continues to serve as Delta's CEO
and a director. In 2003, he also co-founded Alliance Oil & Gas
Company, LLC, Houston, Texas, which is principally involved in oil
and gas acquisitions. He continues to serve as Alliance's chairman
and a director. In January 2004, Mr. Fetters became the president
of Waveland Energy Partners, LLC, of Irvine, California. He holds
both a bachelor's and master's degree in geology from the University
of Tennessee.
Nathan
C. Collins, Director
Mr. Collins joined Galaxy’s board of directors in April 2004.
Mr. Collins’ career spans 40 years in the banking industry,
where he held senior executive positions with Valley National Bank
of Arizona and later with Bank Texas of Dallas, where he served
as Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of the holding company
and each of the three subsidiary banks. Mr. Collins was President
and CEO of Flemington National Bank in New Jersey and he served
as President of Nordstrom National Bank, a credit card bank for
Nordstrom Stores. Most recently Mr. Collins served as President
and CEO of Bank of the Southwest of Tempe, Arizona.
