Pannonian
International, a subsidiary of US-based Galaxy Energy Corporation,
and its London-listed partner Empyrean Energy have spudded an exploration
well on their German acreage, writes Iain Esau.
Glantal-1 is targeting gas potential in the Neues Bergland permit
in south west Germany close to Frankfurt.
Empyrean has the right to earn up to a 52% working interest in the
Neues Bergland permit.
This permit contains the Pfalzer anticline, a deep structure containing
coal beds which, said Empryean, could hold significant quantities
of gas.
It is expected that the well will take about 45 days to reach total
depth.
